Joan Marie Becker nee Haertel age 75. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Becker. Loving mother of Laura (Gerald) Morin and Linda (Steve) Kurka. Dearest grandmother of Brittany and Claudia Morin. Devoted daughter of the late Herbert and Helen Haertel. Cherished sister and sister in law of Shirley and the late Arnold Marolf and Robert and Patricia Haertel. Fond aunt of Gail (Chris) McCarthy, Karen (Jim) Lambert, Rachel Chouteau and Scott (Carrie) Haertel. Great aunt Ava.
Born in Melrose Park, January 16, 1940
Passed away, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the home of her daughter Linda, surrounded by her family. She leaves behind many loving and supportive friends. She was employed for many years and retired from Cooper Lighting in Elk Grove Village. She was actively involved at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect. She enjoyed playing tennis whenever she could with her friends and made many shopping trips to Carson’s. Joan loved to travel thru ought the US as well as overseas, first with her late husband Ken and then with her friends. There was nothing she loved more than to spend the weekend with her granddaughters shopping, visiting the Botanic Gardens or watching the girls participate in any of their activities.
Visitation Saturday 10:00 AM until services 12 noon at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect. Interment Memory Gardens.
